The relatively older Bollywood songs always had a peculiar trait and it was that particular singers were used for particular actors. These playback singers' voices suited very well to the actors and we as kids always felt that the actors themselves are singing the songs while all they did was lip syncing! This was the special quality of old Bollywood songs that made these songs more enjoyable and pleasant to listen to. So today, I would like to share with you, a list of 5 singer-actor duos that made Bollywood songs more precious and made us fall in love with the songs which has these jodis. Take a read below at the list.

1) Shah Rukh Khan-Udit Narayan:

Udit Narayan's voice for Shah Rukh Khan songs had caught us up in a lie throughout our childhood that it was Shah Rukh Khan who sings the songs. But when te truth struck us that it is actually Udit Narayan who sings the songs, no one could stop us from admiring his skills and falling in love with his voice and also praising this finest actor-singer duo.

2) Saif Ali Khan-Shaan:

There is something about the voices of these both. It feels like as if this match was made in heaven, I mean their voices are completely made for each other. For sure, if Saif Ali Khan could sing, he will surely sing like Shaan. Be it a romantic song like 'Kuch Toh Hua Hai' or a energetic party song like 'Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe', Shaan singing for Saif Ali Khan always suits well.

3) Salman Khan-S. P. Balasubrahmanyam:

Another popular singer-actor duo whose voices go so well together. There are so many songs sung by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam for Salman Khan and there's no turning away from the fact that his voice was the voice that most suited Salman Khan. The way their duo made hit songs and made us feel all the feels truly cannot be articulated in words.

4) Preity Zinta-Gayatri Ganjawala:

Ever properly paid attention to the song 'My dil goes mmm....?' If yes, then you probably know why I have mentioned this duo. Preity Zinta has a very different voice but she is the singer whose voice has perfectly matched Preity Zinta's voice. This is another instance where I believed that it was Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta themselves signing the song, 'My Dil Goes Mmm...'.

5) Amrita Rao-Vasundhara Das:

I think you must have never heard of this duo but I wanted to mention it because Vasundhara Das's voice for Amrita Rao matched so well. In the song 'Chale Jaise Hawaayein' from Main Hoon Na, we have seen Vasundhara Das lending her voice to Amrita Rao's character 'Sanjana' and that's when I realized that yes, their voices are almost the same!

So, this was a small list of some singer-actor duos which always made our Bollywood songs special, unique and more exciting and enjoyable. Feel free to share in the comments below some more singer-actor duos whose voices you feel go well together.

1) Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si (from- Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi):

So, everyone of us know this song. We enjoy this song and also enjoy Kishore Kumar's voice in this song which we all love. The ones who listen to this song must also be vibing to the euphonious music, but do you know that the tone of this song is inspired by a song named 'Sixteen Tons' originally sang by Merle Travis which later in 1955 got a new version sung by Tennessee Ernie Ford, another American singer and then there were many international versions of this song too and then we have 'Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si ', the Indian version of this tone.

Listen to the song 'Sixteen Tons' here:

2) Meri Mehbooba (from- Pardes):

Ok, so all the ones who have heard this song 'Meri Mehbooba' from the movie 'Pardes' must have loved the whole song except for the weird lyrics part which goes like 'O bloody d d, O blooda da da, O blado do do, what to do'. Well, you'll be surprised to know that these lyrics do have a thought behind it. Don't know the meaning of these lines but surely know the reason why they are included in this song. This verse is a tribute to the English rock band, 'The Beatles' who created a song titled- "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da".

Listen to the song  "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" here:

3) Neend Churaayi Meri (from- Ishq):

This song from the movie 'Ishq' was also remade in the movie Golmaal Again. This original song has vibrant music and lyrics. Well, this vibrant tune of this song is lifted from a 1990's English song 'Sending all my love' by a pop-band named 'Linear'. This song isn't a case of inspired tune because the exact tune from the song 'Sending all my love' is used in this song.

Listen to the song 'Sending all my love' here:

4) Dil To Pagal Hai (from- Dil To Pagal Hai):

So, so, unquestionably, this is the movie with the best music album and the proof for it is the fact that more than 10 million audio cassettes of Dil To Pagal Hai were sold worldwide and the producers earned an advance of ₹4.5 crores for the music rights. While anothet fact about this particular song is that, it was shot at Europa-Park- the biggest theme park in Germany and also at Baden-Baden- a spa town near the Black Forest mountain ranges.

5) O O Jaane Jaana (from- Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya):

A fun-filled song which we love grooving to. But do you know the fact about this song that, Kamaal Khan produced and sung the first version of this song when he was in London in 1996. It was an instant hit. But the song was rejected by the producers of various movies after which, two years later, Salman Khan decided to use it for "Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya". Well, there's another fun fact behind why Salman Khan is shirtless in this song and it's because he was supposed to wear a red shirt in this song but the sizes didn't fit him, so Sohail Khan asked him to shoot the video without a shirt and that's how we got the shirtless Salman in this iconic song!

6) Rangeela Re (from- Rangeela):

When Asha Bhosle sang the song 'Rangeela Re' she was 61 years old and A. R. Rahman usually recruited her to sing for the younger actresses and we can't deny how beautifully her voice still suited to the actresses. While speaking about the whole music album of the movie Rangeela, both Aamir Khan and Asha Bhosle did not first like Rangeela's soundtrack. This was A. R. Rahman's debut in the Hindi movies.

7) Bhool Bhulaiyaa (from- Bhool Bhulaiyaa):

Here we have another case of inspired song. Yes, this rather funky and fun song is inspired from a track by "JTL", a South Korean dance music group. The original song is titled "My Lecon". Bollywood does have many such songs with inspired tunes used in it.

Listen to the song "My Lecon" here:

8) Kajra Re (from- Bunty Aur Babli):

You must not be knowing this but this straight-up-fire song 'Kajra Re' featured in one of Brazil's highest-rated television series called 'Caminho das Indias'. Speaking about the vibrant music that this song has, the music of the song falls under a genre called 'Kajari', derived from the word 'Kajal', that is a semi-classical singing genre, originating in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

9) Dil Chahta Hai (from- Dil Chahta Hai):

"Dil Chahta Hai, kabhi naa beetein chamkile din". Have you ever paid much attention to this one line and found something weird? Well, this line sounds just fine and straightly means that the heart doesn't want the sparking days to pass away. But something different struck in Farhan Akhtar's mind after listening to the two words 'Chamkile Din'. He was intent on removing these words from this verse since he felt it sounded like a detergent brand. Filmmakers really always have a unique point of view.

10) Dard-e-disco (from- Om Shanti Om):

The title of this song is the most unique one and choreographer and director, Farah Khan came up with the term, "Dard-e-disco". The plan was to mix sadness and dance in the same song and this title is a satirical take on fancy Persian terms like, "Dard-e-dil" and "Dard-e-muhabbat". And what Shah Rukh Khan said about this song is that, "Normally one gets females for item songs but this time they used a man. Farah said I am the item girl in this song." Another unique point of view of the filmmaker to come up with such a cool, unique and fun song title.

Reprised bollywood songs, sad songs, part 2 songs, Yashraj Films, dharma productions, music, bollywood, bollywood songs, Bollywood music, romantic son

Songs, songs, songs! Songs are one such thing where music and lyrics get combined and make us feel different emotions. You must be listening to so many Bollywood songs on a regular basis. There are different songs for different emotions but then, there are some songs which get a different version in order to express a different emotion. The music and lyrics are modified a little to make a different song that will convey feelings differently from the original one. The filmmakers add this song in the movie or the movie album as well, but we don't pay much attention to those songs sometimes. The reason is maybe because they are shorter in duration but I promise you these songs will spread magic in those 2-3 minutes and I am in love with those reprised version of movie songs. If you have never properly listened any of these songs, then you should definitely try it out. I have compiled below a list of the reprised versions of Bollywood songs. Take a look below.

1) Are re are yeh kya hua (Part 2) (from- Dil Toh Paagal Hai):

You must have surely heard the song 'Are re are' which is a lively and energetic love song. But here comes the part 2 of this song. It has a refreshing start with the signature whistle tune of the movie. This song is a bit serious love song totally opposite from the original one which is rather filled with fun and frolic.

2) Duniya mein kitni hai nafratein (from- Mohabbatein):

This song has the music similar to the song 'Humko Hami Se Chura Lo', but the lyrics are totally different. The song 'Humko Hami Se Chura Lo' is a completely romantic song where as this song is one with powerful lyrics which conveys that love has no limits. When it's early 2000's wali Yashraj Film then there are no questions or doubts about the music, it has to be always awesome.

3) Tujhme rab dikhta hai (part 2) (from- Rab ne bana di jodi):

Now, this song is hardly 2 minutes long but we have the lyrics, the music and Shreya Ghoshal making it impactful. This song can also be counted as the female version of the song 'Tujhme rab dikhta hai' which is a romance filled song. This part is a bit sad and romantic type of mixed song. This song plays in the movie after Taani realizes that she loves her husband Surinder.

4) Kal Ho Naa Ho (sad) (from- Kal ho naa ho):

This whole movie makes us cry and then comes this song in the end which adds on to the sadness. In this song, the two people, Naina and Aman, who know that they love each other, but can't be together are confronting each otger after Naina learns about the sad and tragic truth of Aman's life. The lyrics are so apt for the situation, perfectly written with music that will take you to another world.

5) Bin Tere (Reprise version) (from- I hate luv storys):

The original 'Bin Tere' has a lot more music but this song doesn't, which makes the song more sad to listen to. This version has completely different lyrics and it truly signifies heartbreak. Sadder than the original one, this song will make you miss your special person if they are no longer a part of your life.

6) Chalte Chalte (part 2) (from- Mohabbatein):

This is the female version of the song 'Chalte Chalte' which is the ultimate 'realization of love' song. We females also need a relatable song, a special female version for our realization of love, which we can hum and sing when we are in love.

7) Hum Tumhaare Hai Sanam (sad) (from- Hum Tumhaare Hai Sanam):

The original 'Hum Tumhaare Hai Sanam' is a complete love song and is sung by Udit Narayan and Anuradha Paudwal. In an instant, with change in the lyrics and music and with Sonu Nigam's much painful voice, the whole emotions of thw song are changed from love to heartbreak. Just a two minute song which conveys a lot of painful emotions.

8) Jaane Dil Mein (sad) (from- Mujhse Dosti Karoge):

Another love song turned into a sad song for the plot. This is the song of 'judaai' of two lovers who were once deeply in love and still are but unfortunately can't be together. This part 2 of Jaane dil mein is sung by Sonu Nigam and Lata Mangeshkar.

9) Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (sad) (from- Kuch Kuch Hota Hai):

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is one of the best romantic songs we have heard. But the sad version of this song is also not less dramatic. The scene where Rahul and Anjali reunite after years will bring sad emotions in your heart and this song adds on to the sadness. No doubt Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's expressions and body language is also what makes the song more realistic.

10) Mujhse Hui Bas Yeh Khata (from- Ishq Vishk):

Even if the title is different, this song is a sad version of the song 'Aisa kyu hota hai' which is yet another 'love realization' song. This song has the same tune of Aisa kyu hota hai but entirely different emotions and lyrics.

As cliche as this might sound, but 'Old is Gold', old is truely and purely gold! There is really no comparison or competition for the old hindi songs. We had so many melodious singers at that time whose voices still continue to rule our hearts. Amongst them, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar is the one classic duo of that time. They both were the most respected and acclaimed singers of their time. Their soul touching songs are still alive and are etched in our hearts forever. People still choose to tune into these melodies to relax and calm themselves and have a happy time with themselves. On a dreary Tuesday afternoon, unwinding to the sounds of Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar will bring you complete peace and will instantly teleport you to the olden and golden times. The 'as sweet as sugar' voices of Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar will completely fill your mind with bliss and for sure their songs will make you feel so many emotions. They will give you a feeling of utter happiness which I guess no other thing can ever give you. Let's take a trip down the memory lane while taking a look at the 10 best Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar songs.

1) Waada Karo Nahi Chhodogi (from- Aa Gale Lag Jaa):

Shashi Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore can't be more adorable in this song. A song of 'Pyaar and Takraar'. The music is directed by R.D. Burman. Sharmila Tagore is frustrated and fed up in this song because of Shashi Kapoor and we can hear that exact tone in Lata Mangeshkar's voice as she always modulated her voice as per the emotions of the song which added life to the song.

2) Kora kaagaz tha yeh mann mera (from- Aradhana):

Sharmila Tagore and Rajesh Khanna look absolutely beautiful in this song while romancing in the mountains. The lyricist of this song is Anand Bakshi while the music is given by S.D. Burman.

3) Gore rang pe na itna guman kar (from- Roti):

From the movie Roti, Gore rang pe na itna guman kar, is a playful song between two lovers. Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar's versatility is proven with each and every song sung by them. They always have something different to offer to the audience. This song is also a different and light-hearted one that makes you feel joyful.

4) Tere mere milan ki yeh raina (from- Abhimaan):

A slow and calm love song particularly if you are in a mood to relax and get away from the noise and chaos of everyday life. Listening to this song before going to bed is surely going to give you a peaceful sleep.

5) Aasman Ke Neeche (from- Jewel Thief):

Actually all the old songs make me feel happy but this is one particular song that hits differently. Maybe its because of the music and also Dev Anand. The movie Jewel Thief also has two other iconic songs like Raat Akeli Hai sung by Asha Bhosle and Hothon pe aisi baat by Lata Mangeshkar.

6) Gaata rahe mera dil (from- Guide):

The beginning of the song where Kishore Kumar goes, "Gaata rahe ae ae....... mera dil....." is itself a proof that this song is going to be legit. To your amazement, you will find that this song is truely a masterpiece. Also, there's one particular thing that I like in this song and that is the shade of Waheeda Rehman's saree in the song. I know this is completely irrelevant to the topic but I just wanted to share this.

7) Tere chehre se (from- Kabhi Kabhie):

Pouring out all the emotions into a song is the one skill of Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar that fills a song with life. This one is a lively and romantic song featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Rakhee. 'Tere chehre se nazar nahi hatt ti, nazaare hum kya dekhe', this one line conveys so many feelings and is powerful in its own way.

8) Aapki aankhon mein kuch (from- Ghar):

Lata Mangeshkar is rightly called as the Nightingale of Bollywood and no one can ever deny this fact. 'Aapki aakhon mein kuch' is a love-filled song with utterly beautiful lyrics. Lyricist Gulzar believes that words should either,"Amaze or amuse" for the listener to want to understand the meaning of the lyrics.

9) Jaane kaise (from- Shakti):

A peppy song with rather enthusiastic music. Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar's voice suits to such songs just as the same way it would suit on a slow and calm song. Their voice modulation definitely proves their singing prowess and tells us why they are legends.

10) Achcha toh hum chalte hai (from- Aan Milo Sajna):

The 1970 movie 'Aan Milo Sajna' has the most beautiful album. All the songs in this movie are a treat to listen to. Each song has its own different magic and this song too is tremendously popular for its conversation style composition of the lyrics which makes it a bit different. The lyrics are also somewhat simple to understand yet hold some beauty in itself.

So these were some of the 'never-getting-old' songs sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. But this is not the end, these were just a few of the songs sung by them, the list is surely endless and it would take a lot of time to discuss about their magic and their enchanting songs. These songs will continue to fill our hearts with love and happiness. Comment down below your favorite song sung by this classic duo.

So below is a list of 10 bollywood rain songs or you can also say Bollywood's romantic rain songs. These songs will surely make up for a perfect monsoon playlist.

1) Pyaar Hua Ikrar Hua (from- Shree 420):

This black and white song from the 1950s shows romance in the rain in the simplest way. The lyrics of the song and Lata Mangeshkar's voice will soothe you to the core. It's the two lovers under one umbrella singing a song of love while the rain is pouring down from the sky. Romantic enough!

2) Aaj Rapat Jaaye (from- Namak Halaal):

Amitabh Bachchan and Smita Patil relishing their moments in the rain and dancing to the song Aaj Rapat Jaaye are a vibe. In the rainy season, this song is a big mood as it depicts a carefree attitude which we all need in order to enjoy the rain to the fullest.

3) Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein (from- Ajnabee):

A song completely filled with romance. This song was shot during the actual monsoon season in Mumbai. A timeless romantic rain song with etheral music and lyrics. No doubt why this song is so pleasant to the ears, its because it has the euphonious voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar.

4) Koi Ladki Hai (from- Dil Toh Pagal Hai):

The most refreshing and energetic song from the Yash Chopra Musical, Dil Toh Pagal Hai. The music of this movie plays a pivotal role in its success. Lyricist Anand Bakshi had told Yash Chopra-"if this story (of Dil Toh Pagal Hai) has weak music, then you will be watching this film alone in the theatre". But unarguably the movie has the most melodious and mellow music. This song will make you happy and will leave you with a desire to dance your heart out in the rain.

5) Dekho Na (from- Fanaa):

Sonu Nigam never fails to impress us with his dulcet voice and he wins our heart in this song as well. The ideal romantic rain song for lovers. The lyrics in the beginning which go like, "Yeh saazish hai boondon ki, koi khwaahish hai chup chup si..." will itself hearten you and will leave a smile on your face.

6) Hum Tum- Title Song (from- Hum Tum):

Ever listened to this song while it's raining outside with earphones on and eyes closed? If not, then try it now. In the video song, Rani Mukherjee watching the couples in the rain and creating romantic scenarios in her head is much for many people. A splendid and soothing song which will surely make you feel mushy.

7) Saawan Barse Tarse Dil (from- Dahek):

No song can be as perfect as this song for lovers in the monsoon. The best part about this song is that it shows the 90s wali Mumbai during the rainy season with potholes and traffic, and nostalgia hits hard while watching and listening to this song. This song describes the situation of two lovers eager and excited to meet each other during the season of love. It also shows the efforts they take on their way to meet each other. They cross all the obstacles and finally make their way through the heavy rain and meet each other. It is indeed, the best rain song ever.

8) Rimjhim Gire Saawan (from- Manzil):

Yet another song which shows us the Mumbai rains, oh sorry! Its shows us the 'Bombay' rains, because this is a song from the 70s when Mumbai was Bombay and was less crowded and more beautiful in the rainy season. This song surely has love and romance but it also has Bombay vibes all over it.

9) Baarish (from- Half Girlfriend):

A new age romantic rain song. I guess there is a strong bond between Shraddha Kapoor and rain as we always see her featuring in so many rain songs like Cham Cham and Tum Hi Ho. Whenever it rains, many of us just want to quietly walk into the rain and close our eyes and feel the rain drops falling on us and get lost in the voice of the rain just like Shraddha Kapoor does in this song.

10) Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin (Duet) (from- Meri Pyaari Bindu):

An emotion filled heart melting song. The two lovers in this song have a feeling of sadness in their hearts for not being together but at the same time they still have a sense of satisfaction and happiness for each other. The moment when Bindu and Abhimanyu bump into one another while dancing in the rain and stop and stare into each others eyes, that little moment makes us feel so many emotions in just a few seconds. This song holds very strong emotions as it is the reunion of two lovers and it's just their eyes doing all the talking.
